The
origins of Composite Solutions Inc. can be traced to the mid-1970's. It was then that
founder Jeffrey Kent began building carbon composite parts for
Tornado catamarans and DN Iceboats. Based on this experience Jeffrey formed a
partnership with the leading aluminum spar builder in the U.S.
in 1989. The mission was to introduce composite products and
autoclave technology to the spar industry. Through Jeff's involvement and
creativity they quickly advanced to their position today as the largest carbon
spar builder in America.
Following this success Jeff went out on his own and founded Composite Solutions
Inc. in 1997. Since then Composite Solutions
Inc. has manufactured high quality composite components primarily for the marine
sector and has produced excellent results in other industries as well. From
custom one-off pieces to production parts, CSI takes
pride in its recognition as the source of the finest rudders,
spars, wheels, and structural components in the industry.
Composite Solutions is proud of its design, engineering,
and manufacturing capabilities. For custom products, CSI is
particularly unique in its ability to process composite materials while dealing
with complex designs and difficult process issues. Our technical experience
combined with production flexibility offers our clients the opportunity to utilize composite construction
and take advantage of all that composites have to offer.
All production is done in our well-equipped shop which includes two autoclaves,
a walk-in oven for oversized parts, a complete machine shop, a CNC
router/miller and winding machines. This equipment gives us the
flexibility we need to produce the finest carbon composite
products available.
We have long term working relationships with many well known designers, engineers,
and boatbuilders. Our engineering strength combined with our
sailing know-how, skilled workforce
and rigorous quality controls guarantee superior products. We have engineered
rigs, rudders and custom products for family cruisers and mega yachts, PHRF and
grand-prix racers, and America's Cup Class racers. We use the same careful and painstaking engineering and quality
control for every project.
We have supplied components and parts to industry leaders
including: Aquidneck Custom Composites, Brooklin Boatyard, Dana Robes
Boatbuilders, Derecktor Shipyard, Edson, French and Webb, Goetz Custom Boats,
Harken, Lockheed Martin Corp, Lyman Morse Boatbuilders, MCM, Melges
